SCANDAL: Reflects on gays, not church

| April 29, 2015 9:00 PM

Yet another example of anti-Catholic bigotry from Chris Belt in his April 26 letter. As I’ve said before: keep it up. It just keeps rolling off our backs — like water off the duck’s — as it has for 2,000 years and counting. We are still here and will be for at least another 2,000, if the world lasts that long.

As for the long over church sex scandal (which will probably keep festering for that next 2,000 years), that was primarily a homosexual scandal not primarily a church one. Ninety-plus percent of the priests involved were active homosexuals and ninety-plus percent of the victims were boys. Did you never wonder why all the fuss was directed against the priests and not even one percent of it directed against practicing homosexuals? Any non-bigoted person would have wondered about that.

But why did we have such priests? My opinion is that elements of the church — along with almost the entire rest of the world — was a victim of the deafening propaganda of the gays and their supporters and felt, in violation of church teachings, that they should join in with the crowd and welcome them. A huge mistake the church has since corrected. And, of course, new “victims” keep popping up with decades old accusations. Ah. The smell of money to be made is often overpowering.

But, I repeat: rave on. The “Gates of Hell” will continue to fail in their quest to destroy the church. Check back in 4015.

A final note to thwart those planning to strike back with false accusations. There is nothing wrong about being gay. The wrong is in living the so-called gay lifestyle and that is a choice.
