HUTCHINGS: Citizens support a worthy cause
Many thanks to the people of Coeur d'Alene for supporting yet another worthy cause. The fundraiser for Mike Hutchings on April 12 (see Coeur d'Alene Press story April 10) raised $5,000 to assist him and his family in offsetting the costs of his cancer.
The event was organized by the co-workers of Hutch's wife Kim at Kootenai Health Senior Care Center. Hutch's church home, Lake City Community Church, offered the nice venue. Super 1 Foods, Hutch's employer, supplied the food for the spaghetti feed plus items for the silent auction and raffle.
Additional gifts and donations for the auction and raffle came from All Seasons Landscaping, Papa Murphy's, Rancho Viejo, Top This, El paisa, GW Hunters, Albertsons, Sower Bookstore, Sunflowers, Donut Dugout, Huckleberry Thicket, Northwest Bounce House, Good Dog, Premier Jewelry, Caddyshack, Van Hoff's, Dragon House, Puttin' Around, and Fins and Feathers. Several local talents submitted art work, woodwork and jewelry for the auction.
Each and every item was deeply appreciated. Hutch's friends, co-workers and family all stepped in to volunteer their time and talents to assist with the myriad of details this kind of event requires. Those who attended were generous and had great fun supporting Hutch. Kudos to all of you! (If I have left anyone out, my sincere apologies.) What a heart warming experience with a great bunch of people. The success of this event is a reminder of why we chose to live in Coeur d'Alene.

CHILI FEED: Thanks to donors, participants
The Dawn Connerley Family thanks everyone who participated in making the chili feed a success. Our thanks go out to our community folks who came and donated their chili and money.
