Carol Mooney, 80

Carol Mooney, 80, passed away on April 20, 2015, surrounded by her family at St. Clair Hospital in Lakewood, Wash.

She was born Carol Marie Satchwell in Lewiston, Idaho, on Feb. 18, 1935. Her family later moved to Coeur d'Alene where she met the love of her life, Don Mooney from Cougar Gulch. They were married for over 59 years and had three children.

Carol worked at Clover Park Technical College for 31 years where she helped develop several programs. She was director of the Lakewood Senior Center for many years prior to her retirement. She loved to sew, make flower arrangements, attend theater performances, and play cards with friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her sons, Brian Denis and Bruce Alan Mooney. She is survived by her husband, Don Mooney; sister Betty (Bill) Weller; daughter Joan (Rich) Homeyer; grandchildren: Christina Mooney, Richard Ray, Sarah, Eric and Douglas Homeyer.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at their home in Steilacoom, Wash.
