Davis tapped for St. Joe ranger job

Matt Davis, the acting district ranger for the Idaho Panhandle National Forest's St. Joe Ranger District, will soon be the district's official ranger.
Forest Supervisor Mary Farnsworth announced that Davis - district ranger for Priest Lake - will take over the St. Joe district position May 31.
"Matt brings extensive practical leadership experience to the St. Joe District and we are thrilled to have him on board in this new capacity," Farnsworth said.
Davis has a bachelor's degree in wildlife biology and a master's degree in fisheries management, along with years of experience as a resource specialist and other work related to the management of forest resources.
"I think this is an awesome opportunity to work on the same forest, yet with a new community and different challenges," Davis said.
The Forest Service will be recruiting to fill the Priest Lake Ranger position as quickly as possible.
