Police: Pickup driver rams patrol car

BOISE - Authorities say a Boise police officer sustained a leg injury after a man in a pickup rammed his patrol car as the officer tried to get back in.

Police say the officer pulled over 32-year-old Jose Manuel Sanchez about 7 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say Sanchez stopped but then turned around and drove at the officer.

Police say the injured officer couldn't pursue but radioed for help. The officer was treated at a hospital and released.

Police followed the pickup onto eastbound Interstate 84 where Sanchez lost control and crashed in Elmore County.

Police say Sanchez was ejected and ran away but was quickly caught. After treatment at a hospital he was booked into the Ada County Jail on Friday.

He's facing a charge of felony battery on an officer.

Police identify snowmobiler killed in crash

KETCHUM - Central Idaho authorities have identified the man found dead under his snowmobile near Pettit Lake.

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office tells the Idaho Mountain Express that 69-year-old Geoffrey Stephan Bushell died in the snowmobile crash.

Sheriff Gene Ramsey said deputies went to a cabin on Tuesday looking for Bushell after a report he hadn't returned home.

Ramsey says the death occurred sometime between April 2 and Sunday.

He says he suspects Bushell crashed on his snowmobile after hitting a tree well, an indentation around a tree where snow hasn't accumulated.

Ramsey says there was no indication Ramsey was alive after the accident occurred.

The Ketchum-based newspaper reports that Bushell had been a real estate agent in the area since 1980.
