PERVERT: Look it up, you haters
My Random House College Dictionary may be more than 40 years old. But it contains the following definitions for “pervert:” To turn away from the right course of action, to lead astray morally, to lead into mental error or false judgment, to turn to an improper use, misapply, to misconstrue or misinterpret, esp. deliberately; distort, to bring to a less excellent state; vitiate, debase, a person who practices sexual perversion, one affected with perversion, seduce, corrupt, demoralize, pollute, defile, impair, degrade.”
In answer to Mr. Chris Belt; in most every instance of scripture cited in his letter, can also be found other corresponding scriptures, regarding “abnormal” sexual behavior. IE: sexual activities not condoned by biblical law. Which also includes rape, prostitution and having sex with your wife at the wrong time of the month. To therefore argue that the Bible only “condemns” what Mr. Belt wants it to, is to factually pervert the intended purpose of the Bible.
And as long as Mr. Belt makes it plain, that he is writing his letters out of hatred and bigotry for “the other;” then any of the above definitions of pervert ought to equally apply to himself. Even if Mr. Belt is correct, that being gay won’t get you to heaven. Shall I put it bluntly; neither will hatred put anyone else, one step closer to the pearly gates. The Bible also condemns hatred as a sin equivalent to murder.
