POEM: An Easter thank you

JESUS thank you for your sacrifice

For which you gave your very life.

Yes he died upon the cross

For you and me and all of us.

Can’t begin to know your pain

We need to thank him for all we gain.

Now we know the reason why

JESUS came on earth to die.

They drove the nails into the boards

How that must hurt our dear LORD.

The gates of heaven had been closed

For how long, no one knows.

Heavens gates are open now

As JESUS takes his final breath

So we can enter when we’re laid down

For our final rest.
