PREP CROSS COUNTRY ROUNDUP: Finney, Cd'A girls shine

EAGLE - Lake City senior Jake Finney was the top local finisher, finishing eighth in the boys elite division race in 15 minutes, 36.5 seconds at the 135-team Bob Firman Invitational on Saturday at Eagle Island State Park.

Josie Brown was 17th in the girls elite race for Coeur d'Alene in 18:50.9, with teammate Kara Story finishing in 19:01 for 21st. The Viking girls finished third with 149 points.

Davis High of Kaysville, Utah swept the boys and girls team titles in the elite division.

Timberlake's Kassidy Hammond was eighth in the girls Division II race, with fellow Tiger Brayden Menti finishing 14th in the boys Division II race.

Sandpoint boys, girls win at Lewiston meet

LEWISTON - The Sandpoint boys and girls swept the team titles at the Inland Empire Klassic at the Lewiston Orchards.

Katherine Kaul of Sandpoint won the girls race in 18:38, leading a pack of four Bulldogs in the top five.

Katey Mae McInturff finished eighth for Kootenai.

Kenneth Kovalchuk was the top finisher at seventh in the boys race for Sandpoint, which beat Eastmont by 30 points for the boys team title.
