PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Timberlake nabs IML win

PRIEST RIVER - Courtney Eaton totaled 11 kills and 11 digs as the Timberlake Tigers rallied from a slow start to beat the Priest River Spartans 10-25, 25-21, 15-25, 25-22, 15-10 in Intermountain League volleyball Thursday night.

Matraca Rocheleau had 21 assists, Kiara Hauck 17 digs for Timberlake (4-9, 1-2 IML). Jacquelyn Mallet had four aces, Katie Malloy and Becca Castle three blocks each.

Priest River dropped to 0-2 in the IML.

Timberlake visits Bonners Ferry on Tuesday.

Post Falls

MOSCOW - The host Bears, leading the 4A Inland Empire League, swept the 5A Trojans 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 in nonleague play at Bear Den.

Brooke Bowers had five kills and nine digs for Post Falls (7-9). Andra Beck had 11 assists and two aces, Lydea Schneider 10 assists, Mackenzie Morris nine digs, Cassidy Jackson three blocks, Amanda Westlake two aces.

Post Falls plays host to Lake City on Tuesday.

Lakeland

RATHDRUM - Megan Ramseyer had 11 kills, 12 assists, three aces and seven digs as the visiting Vikings beat the Hawks 25-9, 25-14, 25-12 in nonleague play at Hawk Court.

Ali Williams added nine kills and 16 assists for Coeur d'Alene (12-2). Missy Huddleston had seven kills and six kills, Delaney Schmidt four kills and three aces.

Next Tuesday, Coeur d'Alene (12-2) hosts Lewiston and Lakeland (4-10) travels to Lake City.

Kootenai

HARRISON FLATS - The visiting Knights rallied to top the Warriors 25-21, 23-25, 11-25, 25-18, 15-10 in a North Star League match.

"It was an exciting game," Lakeside co-coach Kellee Johnson said. "The girls played very strong tonight in all positions. It was a well-deserved win for our Lady Knights. Both (Lakeside co-coach) Karyn (Stockdale) and I are very proud of them."

Kayelee Carman had 13 digs, three kills and one ace, Allison Short seven kills, Grace McInturff five kills and two blocks, Lacy Goodson 13 digs and six kills and Madison Napierala 19 assists for Kootenai (1-8, 1-3 NSL), which travels to Clark Fork on Tuesday.

"We made some great consecutive plays, but left Lakeside too much room to battle back and gain the momentum," Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. "But the girls did some great things tonight."

Lakeside (1-8, 1-3) travels to Wallace on Tuesday.

COEUR d'ALENE - Shelby Majszak had 13 kills, 15 digs and three aces to lead the visiting Miners past the Panthers 26-24, 25-27, 25-20, 25-19 in an nonleague match at Holy Family Catholic School.

"It was a really good match," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Tera Armstrong said. "Both teams played hard. Wallace played really good defense and it was hard to get any kills on them."

Jackie Callihan had 15 assists and Madi Aittama had two aces for Coeur d'Alene Charter (5-7), which faces Orofino and Grangeville in Central Idaho League play on Saturday at St. Maries High.

Gretchen Farkas had 25 assists for Wallace (6-2), which hosts Lakeside on Tuesday.

COEUR d'ALENE - IIysa Emerson had six aces and seven kills to lead the Royals past the Panthers in a Mountain Christian League match at Venture High.

Katelyn Stegman had 12 assists for North Idaho Christian (7-2, 5-2 MCL), which faces The Oaks tonight in Spokane Valley.
