Gene L. Dougall, 64

Gene L. Dougall, 64, of Post Falls, Idaho, died Sept. 15, 2014.

Gene was born Sept. 2, 1950, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Burl Dougall and Maida Hieb Dougall. Shortly after his birth they moved to Coeur d'Alene, where he grew up and went to school.

Gene served in the Idaho National Guard for a number of years, and was an avid outdoorsman.

He began his career in HVAC at Al's Heating, and worked in various shops in the area before starting his business, Dougall's Heating and Air Conditioning, around 1985.

Gene has one son, Jason, from his first marriage to Michelle. He later met his second wife and love of 22 years, Connie Dougall.

Gene retired in 2006, and enjoyed his winters in Yuma, Ariz., and summers at the property on the Coeur d'Alene River.

He was preceded in death by parents Berl and Maida; and best friend Larry Hiett. Gene is survived by his wife, Connie Dougall of Post Falls; son Jason Dougall (Gina) and grandchildren Kiauna and Cory, of Post Falls; stepson Sean Omey (Misty) and grandson Jacob, of Rathdrum; sisters Judy Pixler (John) of Coeur d'Alene, Debbie Gunshell (Jon) of Marion, Mass., Kristy Logsdon (Gary) of Coeur d'Alene, and Laura Dougall of Post Falls; brothers Harvey Dougall (Jackie) of Post Falls and Darrell Dougall (Sandy) of Tacoma, Wash., and lots of nieces and nephews.
