• Crash damages business property, car

POST FALLS - It didn't break the ice, but it dented the ice container.

A 2011 Subaru Legacy crashed into the ice chest in front of the Highway 41 Express convenience store in Post Falls on Sunday night.

The female driver told police she pushed the accelerator rather than the brake when parking at the business.

The front of the car sustained heavy damage and had to be towed. The damaged ice container was moved about 4 feet.

Police also believe the incident may have damaged the building as there were fresh cracks in the paint, possibly indicating stress fractures from the collision.
