PREP FOOTBALL: Bonners Ferry downs Lake City junior varsity

BONNERS FERRY - Two recovered fumbles and two blocked punts helped the host Badgers score 35 unanswered points in the second quarter and overwhelm the Timberwolves 50-22.

Quarterback Kaleb Stockton had two touchdown runs and a TD pass to Caleb Harrington for Bonners Ferry (1-3), while running back Nick Sabin also ran for two scores.

Jeremiah Varelman finished the scoring with a kickoff return TD in the second half, which was played with a running clock.

Lake City, which fielded a mix of reserves from its varsity team and members of the sophomore team, was led by Cody Kielblock's two touchdown runs.

Bonners Ferry travels to St. Maries on Friday.
