| September 21, 2014 9:00 PM

POST FALLS - Jack Barrett's unassisted goal in the 45th minute proved to be the difference on Saturday as the Lake City Timberwolves beat the Post Falls Trojans 1-0 in a 5A Inland Empire League match.

"Today's game was exciting from the first whistle to the last," Post Falls coach John Mueller said. "I was very impressed with both teams, how hard they fought and how well they played the game. (Lake City coach) Chad (Beadell) has done a great job growing his program and it shows with strong teams year to year, this year being no different."

The Bulldogs (4-5, 1-1 4A IEL) were only able to produce one shot on goal, with Moscow eventually scoring the game winner in the 64th minute. Sandpoint head coach Adam Tajan said his team's inability to create scoring chances was the difference.

"Moscow had things organized defensively, and pretty much shut down everything we were trying to create," said Tajan, praising the play of goalie Kyle Hertel in defeat. "Kyle made a couple good saves in the second half to keep us in the game. We just never got off the bus to play."
