Coeur d'Alene Race for the Cure events begin tonight

The race is on in Coeur d'Alene this weekend.

The annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will take place Sunday on the grounds of North Idaho College. But there is plenty of fun planned before the race.

Here's the complete Race for the Cure schedule:

Tonight

* Breast Fest

6 p.m., Paddy's Sports Bar and Grill, 601 W. Appleway

Race kick-off party and fundraiser to benefit Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Idaho and the Kootenai Cancer Center. There will be bingo, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, food and drink specials and more.

Saturday

* Survivor Celebration

10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., The Coeur d'Alene Resort

Tickets are $10 for survivors, $15 for guests. Keynote speaker is Heidi Marble. Tickets can be purchased on the Komen Idaho website, http://komenidaho.org/idaho-events/coeur-dalene-survivor-celebration.

* Packet pick-up and late registration

1-5 p.m., North Idaho College Student Union Building, 495 N. College Drive.

It is highly recommended that pre-registered teams and individuals pick up their packets this day so they will be all set for race day.

If you missed online registration, you can still register on-site at NIC inside the Edminster Student Union building.

Sunday

RACE DAY

* Packet Pick-up and late registration

8-9:30 a.m., North Idaho College Student Union Building

* Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine 10K starts at 9 a.m.

* 5K and 1 Mile Race start at 10 a.m.

* Survivor Photo will be at 11:15 a.m. at the Expo stage.

* Survivor Lunch hosted by Texas Roadhouse will be held after the race under the survivor tent. It is open to all registered survivors, plus one guest of their choice.
