Myrtle Pharease Rachels, 86

Myrtle Pharease Rachels, 86, of Post Falls, Idaho, died Sept. 12, 2014, in Hayden, Idaho.

Pharease was born in Louisville, Ky., to Shelton Dade and Maudie May Brookshire. She married Earl Rachels in Greenwood, S.C., on Dec. 1, 1947. They were married for 66 years when Earl passed away on Oct. 11, 2013.

Pharease worked for Seagrams Distillery, Brown Foreman and Reynolds Metals in the packing and shipping departments before retiring to be a full-time mother. She enjoyed oil painting, gardening, music of all kinds - and she loved to dance.

Pharease is survived by her five children: Kenneth Earl Rachels, William Dade Rachels, Johnnie Lewis Rachels, Tara Leigh Sanders, and Shanene Beth Rachels; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d'Alene, followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with final arrangements.
