Cardboard Box City coming Oct. 3

COEUR d'ALENE - Fernan Elementary School will become a cardboard metropolis when Family Promise of North Idaho presents its seventh annual Cardboard Box City Oct. 3 and 4 to benefit homeless children and families in North Idaho.

Cardboard Box City will involve the community in a hands-on experience as it raises funds for Family Promise and brings awareness to homelessness. Participants will collect pledges and sponsors and supply and decorate homes of cardboard where they will sleep for the night.

Arrival and set-up time is 4-6 p.m. Oct. 3, the soup line will be open from 5:30-7:30 p.m., live music and prizes from 6-9 p.m. and breakfast from 6:30-7:30 a.m. Oct. 4 with tear down and clean-up from 6:30-8 a.m.
