BLM seeks nominations for council

COEUR d'ALENE - The Bureau of Land Management Coeur d'Alene District is seeking nominations for several vacancies on its Resource Advisory Council.

The district is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies in category one of the committee which includes holders of Federal grazing permits, representatives of organizations associated with energy and mineral development, the timber industry, developed outdoor recreation, transportation or rights-of-way, off-highway vehicle use and commercial recreation.

The 15-member Coeur d'Alene District RAC consists of representatives from Boundary, Bonner, Benewah, Kootenai, Shoshone, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, Clearwater, Idaho and Adams counties.

This citizen-based Advisory Council includes a diverse representation of industry, environmental organizations, historical and archaeological groups, state and local governments, Indian tribes and the general public.

The council makes recommendations to BLM regarding public land and resource management, including land-use planning, recreation, fire management, livestock grazing and wild horse and burro herd management.

Council members are appointed by the Secretary of the Interior to serve an initial three-year term and may be reappointed to serve additional three-year terms.

Interested individuals will need to complete a nomination form and provide a letter of reference supporting the position they are seeking.

Nomination forms are available online at on.doi.gov/1m7gIXE or from the District Office located at 3815 Schreiber Way in Coeur d'Alene.
