Ramona M. Genzberger, 78

Ramona Mae Genzberger, 78, passed away on Sept. 11, 2014. She departed peacefully at home with her husband, family and loved ones by her side.

Ramona was born on Nov. 8, 1935, in Anaconda, Mont., to Mary Vlastelich and Charles Mero. She graduated from Anaconda High School in 1953 with honors followed by St. Patrick's School of Nursing in 1956, and went on to serve for 30 years as an operating room nurse and supervisor.

In Sept. 1957, Ramona married Earl M. Genzberger. They moved to Butte, Mont., in 1958, where they raised a family of four children.

Ramona was active in the Butte community. In addition to serving early on for three terms as president of the Hawthorne School PTA, she was a member of Daughters of the Nile, the American Legion and P.E.O., as well as president of the Junior League and a founding member of the Butte Silver Bow Arts Foundation and the Arts Chateau. She was also among the congregation of St. John's Episcopal Church.

After moving to Post Falls, Idaho, in 2002, Ramona was an original hospital volunteer member of the Kootenai Medical Center Nightingales. Among her favorite gatherings was her P.E.O. Chapter BF sisters, enjoying their friendship and spreading the P.E.O. philosophy. Also, her thanks to the kindness of many.

Ramona is survived by her loving husband, Earl, of 57 years; sons Marc Genzberger and Cory Genzberger; daughters Janna Leaf and Christine Genzberger; son-in-law Gary Leaf and daughter-in-law Roxana Genzberger.
