SPOKANE VALLEY - Kelsey Turnbow capitalized on two Lake City turnovers in the first half and defending state champion Central Valley beat Lake City 2-1 on Monday in nonleague play.

"They are by far the best team we have seen for quite some time," Lake City coach Matt Ruchti said. "We took the momentum back in the second half and I want to praise our team for a great second effort.

"That is the type of soccer we expect out of this group."Lake City (4-2) hosts Coeur d'Alene on Thursday at 6.
