| September 11, 2014 9:00 PM

HAUSER - Double J Dog Ranch is hosting a fundraiser Saturday to benefit the special dogs in the care of the ranch.

Rock'n and Walk'n Hauser, a family-friendly 5.5-mile dog walk and adoption fair, will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hauser Lake County Park and Boat Launch, located at 10702 N. Fay Place.

Double J Dog Ranch is a nonprofit organization in Hauser which specializes in the care and placement of dogs with special needs.

"We're very excited to host this family event that will benefit dogs with special needs," said Duane Justus, co-founder of Double J Dog Ranch. "We are expecting a huge turnout; not only for the walk but to enjoy the live music and the adoption fair."

The Justuses will be making rounds in their "Woof-Wagon" to provide rides to humans and their furry friends along the route. Rock'n and Walk'n Hauser will include live music by The Angela Marie Project beginning at 11 a.m., an adoption fair with several local rescue groups bringing their adoptable dogs, raffles, a silent auction and a hot dog buffet for lunch. Double J Dog Ranch will also be collecting cat and dog food donations for the Pacific Northwest Animal Welfare Project.

Registration for Rock'n and Walk'n Hauser is $10 and includes one trip through the hot dog buffet. Participants can preregister at www.eventbrite.com.
