NIC Booster Club to hold athletics showcase

COEUR d'ALENE - North Idaho College coaches will present previews of the upcoming season just getting underway at the Booster Club Luncheon Athletics Showcase from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, Bay 1.

This is a chance to meet the entire coaching staff, team captains, enjoy a highlight video, and get a season preview from all sports. The special Booster Club lunch menu at the Resort is $10 or less, and parking is validated.

The public is welcome to attend the luncheon. The NIC Booster Club meets on the second and last Tuesday of the month at noon.

Shock sign multiyear lease at Spokane Arena

SPOKANE - The Spokane Shock announced the organization and the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena have approved a multiyear lease agreement.

The 2015 season will mark the Shock's 10th season as a franchise, having kicked off its inaugural season in 2006 as a member of the af2. After ArenaCup wins in 2006 and 2009, the team made the jump to the Arena Football League in 2010 where they won their first ArenaBowl Championship in their inaugural season.

The Spokane Arena will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2015.

Registration open for Rolly Williams Classic golf tourney

HAYDEN LAKE - North Idaho College is holding the eighth annual Rolly Williams Classic Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Avondale Golf Club.

The entry deadline is Sept. 13. Entry includes golf, cart, an NIC shirt and dinner provided by Q'doba Mexican Grill. It will be a four-person scramble with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost is $75 per person, $300 per team and $50 per hole sponsor.

Proceeds benefit the NIC golf program.
