Stanley Leroy 'Stan' Olson, 70

| September 3, 2014 9:00 PM

Stanley Leroy "Stan" Olson, 70, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior with his loving family by his side on Aug. 24, 2014, in his Post Falls home.

Stan Olson was born March 20, 1944, in Tacoma, Wash., to Erle Olson and Helen Scott Olson. He was raised in Spokane, Wash., where he met his love, Ruth Harden. Together since 1969, they were married by common law. They moved to Idaho in 1975 and lived in Coeur d'Alene until Ruth passed in 2002. Stan then moved to Post Falls.

Stan graduated from, and then taught, Celebrate Recovery classes at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls where he also attended church. He loved fishing, hunting and watching movies, as well as gardening and anything in nature. He had an amazing sense of humor, and always had a goofy story to tell in any conversation.

Stan was great at giving crazy, but fitting, nick-names ... you know who you are ... to show how much he loved you. Hold them dear to your heart.

Stan was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Harden, and stepson, Bruce Roe. He is survived by his stepdaughters Sherry Haugtion, Judy Matson, Nancy Benson, Linda Estelle, Barbara Ferguson, and Patty Neff; nephews Rocky Bertholf and Brian (B.K.) Deizer; grandson Scott Matlock; and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 896 S. Corbin Road (Corbin Park) in Post Falls; pot luck barbecue to follow. Please send all cards and flowers to 1953 Warbler Lane, Post Falls, Idaho 83854. Arrangements by English Funeral Chapel.
