SHRINER: Background, knowledge key

Jerry Shriner has been an active citizen of Kootenai County for many years. We need local candidates like him who have seen how Kootenai County has changed and are willing and able to work hard to make the best that it can be.

Jerry Shriner has the experience in law enforcement, private industry, mental health services, and farming and ranching to give local government a broader conceptual overview that we need to deal with all of the problems facing us. We need new solutions to the same old problems that keep recurring every year.

Land use planning has not gone away. Being a farmer and rancher, Jerry Shriner knows and appreciates the value and importance of the land that we own and the land that we all use and enjoy. He has the ability to look at what this county was when his family first moved here, and he can see what it can become in the future. This takes planning, discussion, and input from all of us. Jerry Shriner is willing and able to work with all the diverse groups involved in these difficult issues.

Jerry Shriner’s involvement in law enforcement will be an important asset in the jail planning. He knows that there are better ways to deal with this expensive problem than entering into a contract with a company from out of state. We are better off spending our tax dollars here in Kootenai County by providing services with local programs that will help keep the jail population under control. He has worked successfully in this area and will work to protect all of us and our tax dollars.
