ARFEE: Penalty, crime don't fit

| October 29, 2014 9:00 PM

I am 83 years old and not in the habit of writing letters to the editor. I realize this letter should be going to the governor or my senator or even the chief of police. The chief has obviously decided that Officer Kelley has done nothing wrong when he shot the dog “Arfee” and that this will all go away.

Sorry, Officer Kelley had no reason to have his gun out in the first place. Officer Kelley was not looking for a convicted or even suspected murderer. Therefore, deadly force, “a drawn gun,” was not appropriate. Period!

All other things aside, a man in his profession who is so scared and uptight that he is ready to kill at the least little noise or movement has no business carrying a gun or obviously being a police officer. He should therefore be relieved of his very high paying job. In other words, canned!

Thank you,

P.J. WALKER
