Free wellness fair at Peak Hayden

HAYDEN - If you could stand being a little healthier - or maybe a lot - Peak Health and Wellness has something for you. And it doesn't cost a thing.

On Oct. 29 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the new Peak Hayden Tennis Center, the health club is hosting a health and wellness fair. There's no admission charge.

"We're having this fair to help promote local health and wellness businesses, and we want people to walk away with personal health-based education that they can use in their daily lives," said Jackie Tawney, Peak's membership representative and the event's organizer. "It keeps people in touch with necessary things to do to keep themselves healthy, and having almost every aspect of keeping the body healthy in one location makes it beneficial for everyone."

Tawney said at least 26 vendors have committed to the Wednesday event. Among the offerings are expert advice on:

* Skin and beauty care

* Physical therapy

* Chiropractic

* Movement screening

* Nutrition counseling

* Weight management

Also featured at the fair will be free eye testing, chair massages, cholesterol testing, body fat testing and supplement samples.

"Everything will be free," Tawney said.

As a community perk, Peak will also be offering current non-members a free 10-day pass and a $0 joining fee.

The Peak Hayden Tennis Center is on Government Way just north of Prairie Avenue and next to the Hayden library.
