SHRINER: Here's why he shines

| October 23, 2014 9:00 PM

You may not be aware that there is a very important position to vote for this November because of the potentially large consequences. It is for Commissioner, District 2, and who is elected will heavily influence whether or not a private jail will be built.

Part of Jerry Shriner’s background includes working in corrections as a Special Assistant to the Commissioner in Alaska. His experience and expertise qualifies him as someone you can trust to make an informed and wise consideration regarding building a private jail. Jerry sees this proposition as a waste of millions of tax dollars. He has a better solution that saves money, is more humane and addresses the underlying mental health causes of crime.

In addition, Jerry Shriner plans to improve personnel practices in Kootenai County departments that would save millions of dollars.

Smart, lean and efficient government is what we all want. You may also value voting for a candidate who is down to Earth, comes from his heart and is a straight shooter. Hear him speak and check him out for yourself. You may be so inspired that you will write a letter to the editor too — something I have never done before until hearing Jerry.
