BRANNON: A man of integrity
I have known Jim Brannon, our current county clerk, for many years.
After the unfortunate and untimely death of Cliff Hayes, I was not in favor of appointing Jim as the replacement clerk. However, since Jim took office and I have had a chance to observe him and the running of his office, I have nothing but the highest praise for him.
Jim has made it a point to learn his responsibilities and the laws governing the clerk’s office. He has done a remarkable job, not only in learning his office, but in the impartial manner he has run it.
While Jim has been criticized at times, I know that he is, above all, honest and above board, and no matter what his personal politics and opinions are, he runs the office with, above all, honesty and integrity, and plays no favorites. I don’t think you can do better than that, honesty and impartiality.
That is why I have grown to support Jim in his operations, and hope that you will all vote to retain Jim Brannon as the county clerk. You will get a non-partisan, honest and quite competent county officer who I am quite proud to know.
