Rodney L. Shriner, 87

Rodney L. Shriner, 87, passed away Oct. 15, 2014, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Rodney was born July 29, 1927, in Martin, S.D. to Charles Shriner and Nettie Spears. He attended Bellgrove and Worley High School.

On April 3, 1946, Rodney married the love of his life, Evelyn Lacy.

Rodney was involved with the Bellgrove Grange for 71 years and was a National Grange 7th Degree. He was involved in the Eagles No. 486 for 66 years. Rodney was also a Lutheran and attended Trinity Lutheran here in Coeur d'Alene.

Rodney enjoyed farming and was active in many agricultural organizations such as the Kootenai County Agricultural Stabilization Committee and the Spokane Bulk Producers Board. He also served on the Kootenai Electric Coop Board for 21 years.

Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn M. Shriner. He is survived by his children, Darlene and Donald Shriner; his sister and brother, Deloras Sullivan and Jerry Shriner; as well as three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d'Alene. English Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
