PREP VOLLEYBALL: Lumberjacks fall to Orofino

TROY - Kari Ghramm finished with 12 kills and an ace for St. Maries, but it wasn't enough as the Orofino Maniacs beat the Lumberjacks 25-23, 25-23, 25-21 in a loser-out match at the 2A District 1-2 tournament at Troy High School.

Kelsey Auer had 19 assists and three blocks, Paige Sines five digs, and Kaylee Auer and Kristen Womack each had an ace for Cental Idaho League champion St. Maries, which ends the season with a 14-10 record.

"I'm really proud of the girls," St. Maries coach Amy Scheer said. "They put their hearts into it all season long and we just came up short tonight.

"We had a great season as (Central Idaho) league champs, but tonight was not our night - it's a hard loss tonight."
