STRANSKY: Think - then vote for her

| October 15, 2014 10:57 PM

Do you consider yourself an independent voter? Then think about this. When you have no balance in a governing body, you will have few opportunities to hear both sides of a story. If you only hear one side of a story, can you really be making thoughtful decisions?

We definitely need some different voices in our legislature. We need voices that support improving Idaho public education, fair wages for working people, improving local resources for our veterans, expanding our mental health facilities, and improving our roads and infrastructures.

Cheryl Stransky’s opponent, Vito Barbieri, is on record as supporting none of these things, especially if any of them are also supported by the federal government. . But we can’t improve the Idaho economy by just shouting “No!” to everything. Facts need to be presented, debated, and applied to the circumstances and citizens of Idaho.

We all love the beauty of Idaho and the good people here. We want our children to be well educated and productive citizens. However, we can’t continue to offer them less and less and still expect them to stay here. They need jobs. They need a growing economy. They need to be prepared to make intelligent choices.

Most people in Coeur d’Alene tell me they vote for the person not the party. For me, Cheryl Stransky is the best choice. Make your choice. Study the issues as presented by Cheryl Stransky and her opponent and see which candidate most represents a forward moving Idaho. Your children and grandchildren are counting on you.
