PAIN: Pray it misses you

The following was written by a woman who suffers from afflictions not readily apparent to observers. She asked that this be published “in hopes that maybe someone would take a good look before judging.”

My days are numbered by this chronic disease. If you could only see the pain inside me.
My joints are flared, my muscles are tight, my bones are brittle and the pain is inside.
It is clearly plain if you look in my eyes. The hurt is there, just look next time.
I am not one to complain, as there are people who are worse. But pain is pain, no matter how and why we hurt.
Just because it is not there for you to see. The pain in my body is very real to me.
Do not judge what you cannot see. God forbid you get this disease.
