Plenty to run about this fall
If you're looking for a local fun run to participate in this fall, you have a variety of choices.
"Run for your lives!," a "zombie-infested" 5K fun run that will benefit the Post Falls Food Bank, will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, 201 E. Fourth Ave.
Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. If you do, you'll be entered to win Scarywood tickets at Silverwood Theme Park.
Cost is $20 for adults and $15 for students.

On Saturday, Oct. 18, Post Falls Parks and Recreation will hold its first Tennis Shoes and Micro Brews 5K fun run and beer festival at Kiwanis Park at 2 p.m., sponsored by Capone's Pub and Grill.
Entry is $25 for those 21 and older and $15 for participants between ages 13 and 20. The cost includes a T-shirt, medal and two drink tickets for participants 21 and older.
Registration is at www.postfallsidaho.org or at the parks and recreation office at City Hall. Packet pickup starts at 1 p.m. the day of the race.

A third fun run, the fourth annual Veterans 5K/10K Run-Walk sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul will be on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. at O'Shay's Restaurant, 313 Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive, Coeur d'Alene.
All proceeds from the event go toward helping veterans who are struggling with housing, medical, food, clothing and employment issues.
A pancake breakfast will be served by Hayden Bible Church to all participants. Coffee will be supplied by Bakery by the Lake. Music will be provided by Ruby Frog Entertainment.
American Legion Post 143 will present the colors. The Patriot Guard Riders will participate in a parade of motorcycles to kick off the event.
The registration fee is $20. You can register at stvincentdepaulcda.org or by calling 416-4717. Race day packets are available at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store from 2-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7.
