Deborah Kay Foy, 62
Deborah Kay Foy was born Oct. 25, 1951, to Robert Frank Pickle, Jr. and Gleadis Viola Pickle, their only child, in Modesto, Calif. She grew up in Modesto, and graduated from Modesto High School, class of 1969. Her additional education included cosmetology.
A miracle came to her in Kamiah, Idaho, - the birth of a beautiful daughter, Adrienne Evans, who sadly passed away Christmas Eve 1995.
Deborah nurtured a huge garden and handled horses for the hunting guide service she had with her husband. She was also coordinator and officer of the Fire Prevention and Dispatcher in Grangeville, Idaho, which she loved doing!
Deb lived and worked in the Spokane Valley for a few years before moving to Hauser, Idaho. She was a very reliable and good employee of several business over the years, until she retired in October 2013.
Oh, how she loved The Blues, the Beatles, and the Grateful Dead, along with other music. Women's Circle Drumming with Daughters/Sisters of the Earth became an important part of Deborah's life (aka her Sufi name, Zahra) for almost 20 years. Zahra had lots of FUN being a Moon Sister! She read a lot (even had a 'book & bead' shop in Rathdrum for a while).
Deb studied Astrology (as her father did) for 20-plus years. If "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ..." Deborah saw all the beauty nature provided: Flora, fauna, four-legged and the winged one.
Deborah finally met the love of her life, Tom Mitchell, and enjoyed being with him! He lovingly cared for her as she succumbed to cancer, her last day ... Oct. 1, 2014.
Deborah also loved the Canine Companions who were part of her life over the years, and Tom will care for their dog, Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Adrienne Evans; and parents Robert and Gleadis. Deborah/Zahra is survived by her many Spirit Sisters and Brothers, and friends, and her 'glorious' memories will keep her close to those who will love her always ... Rest in Peace, Hippie Gal ... may your whimsical laughter float among the clouds, and may your eyes continue to sparkle in the stars.
Deborah will be cremated and no memorial is planned at this time. Light a candle in her memory ...
Bell Tower Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
