Susan C. Mooney, 53

| November 30, 2014 8:00 PM

In loving memory of Susan C. Mooney, 53, of Spirit Lake, Idaho, formerly of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Spokane, Wash.

Susan Claudette (Keon) Mooney was born March 20, 1961, the youngest of eight siblings, to Lillian and Alphonse Keon, in Spokane, Wash. She passed away suddenly, Nov. 19, 2014, suffering medical complications during a brief illness.

Susan was a beloved mother to one beautiful daughter, Cassi Cummings, and was the beloved grandmother to three beautiful children: Lillian Mayhugh (11), Logan Mayhugh (8), and Roza Mayhugh (7), children from Cassi's first marriage with Timothy Mayhugh. She also has two beloved step-grandchildren, Kyle Cummings and Ryan Cummings, children of Cole Cummings (Cassi's husband).

Susan was always the baby sister for her older brothers and sisters, and will always be remembered as such and is greatly missed. Susan was predeceased by her father Alphonse, who died when she was barely 1 year old, her mother Lillian, and her brother Dennis, as well as her adoptive father, Wayne Mooney. She has six surviving brothers and sisters: Andrew, Donald, John, and James Keon, Patricia Gardner, and Mary Comerford, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Susan was a caregiver for much of the last 15 years, caring for Wayne and Dorothy Mooney, who were the parents of her third husband, Michael Mooney. Since their marriage and after, they had always served as a support lifeline through difficult stages in her life. They are both very much loved and have always been very much appreciated for all of their support.

Susan and her daughter also shared a special bond of every moment in their lives. A bond that Cassi will cherish forever. For Cassi, Susan was more than her mother, she was Cassi's best friend.

Susan had a support group of good friends that she very much appreciated; she enjoyed and competed in many competition dart tournaments; she had her special places to gather with friends, and a cabin of a family friend's to escape to a quieter world sometimes.

A private gathering of family and friends will be held. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Susan's online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
