| November 25, 2014 8:00 PM

John Hunter Wilson, longtime Post Falls resident, was born on Oct. 28, 1929, in Denver, Colo. He passed away on Nov. 9, 2014, in Post Falls, Idaho.

John grew up in Denver, Colo. He served in the Army from 1951-1954. John attended MIT, graduating in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. He moved to Pagosa Springs, Colo., where he helped raise Carole's three children.

John had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, skiing and picking mushrooms. John also volunteered many hours for the Head Start Program sharing his love of math with students.

John later moved to Post Falls where he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed the Senior Center. Reading was a passion of John's, as one could tell by his book collection. He also had a love for his Shar-Pei dogs and loved walking them.

He will be missed by his loving family: Carole Young of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and her three children: Kim Montoya and husband Marcus of Elko, Nev., Scott Young and wife Sara of Amarillo, Texas, and Kelley Malcolm of West Linn, Ore. He will also be missed by his loving friends and neighbors - Ron and Kathy Rodgers, and Lynn McNutt, of Post Falls.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Garden Plaza of Post Falls and Hospice of North Idaho for their excellent care.

John's smile will be greatly missed by all, but he will forever be in our hearts.
