LETTER: Just a low blow

After reading Wednesday’s letter from David Sheridan I found that I had to write. I am not surprised at the tons of angered people who wrote in response to Millie’s letter. I have to say I agree with most of them — move back to California.

However, to include Joan Harman in your letter suggesting that she also move to California is absurd and unfair. You also seemed to hint that she is a homosexual which if it were true would have nothing to do with anything. Joan is a veteran and being one I feel she has the right to state when she disagrees with our government. She is and has always been a Republican who is fed up with Butch Otter’s lies like so many of us are.

I don’t know why you feel you know her sexual orientation or anything else about her for that matter. I do know Joan. She is a good woman who enjoys writing letters to the editor. I can’t say that I always agree with her letters but the one she wrote on Sunday was spot on. Say what you may about Millie but leave Joan out of it. We are a Democratic country and have the right to our political views without being told to move away from our hometowns. Our vets deserve more respect than to have you imply sexual innuendo about them that could cause others to treat them unfairly.
