AIRPORT: Time to look ahead

When I think about the changes in the area in the past 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, there has been a big increase in development. Let us look ahead 50 years. This valley will be filled with development. Spokane Valley will be all developed to the state line. Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry will have a big increase in development. Kellogg, Wallace, St. Maries and Plummer areas will have a large increase in development. The airport is an integral part of this whole region.

What will be the need for the Coeur d’Alene Airport/Pappy Boyington Field?

With this much development there will be a large need for commercial passenger jets in and out of Coeur d’Alene Airport/Pappy Boyington Field. We need to protect the airport arrival area, departure area, safety zones, room for runway extensions and a terminal area.

If the city of Hayden wants to increase their tax base they need to develop land away from the airport. Streets and roads have to leave clearance for the airport.

Very important: Protect our airport future.
