Shirley Ann Young, 65

Shirley Ann Young, 65, passed away suddenly on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014.

Shirley was born April 29, 1949, and was raised in Coeur d'Alene with her parents Edwin and Pauline Young, and brothers Ken and Bob Young. She attended and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1967, and then attended North Idaho College.

Shirley raised her three children in the Spokane Valley, where she lived for 28 years. She moved to the Tri-City area in 2010 where she lived the remainder of her life caring for her grandchildren.

Shirley's proudest accomplishment was raising three children, and she often bragged about all their accomplishments. As Shirley often said, "I must have done something right raising them." Shirley was very proud to be blessed with 12 grandchildren and cared for four of her grandchildren daily until her passing. She also enjoyed her individual time with the remaining eight grandchildren every chance she got.

Mom loved us all endlessly and is now our angel.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Pauline Young, and brother Ken Young.

Shirley is survived by Eric William Shanley, Brenda Ann Shanley-Savage, Jennifer Lynn Zimmerman, Nichole Shanley, Don Savage, Kyle Zimmerman, and 12 grandchildren - Ashlynn Shanley, Evan Shanley, Taylor Wayman, Brooke Wayman, Carter Savage, Abby Savage, Lexi McCracken, AnnMarie McCracken, Jorja Zimmerman, Sadie Zimmerman, Macie Zimmerman and Madison Zimmerman.

Gravesite memorial will be held at noon on Friday, Nov. 21, at Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d'Alene. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Don and Brenda Savage's home located at 24702 E. Maxwell Lane, Liberty Lake, Wash., 99019.
