Nella Troy, 87

Nella Troy, age 87, was a Force of Nature. There was no glass ceiling that she did not break through or work around. She excelled in finance and worked for years in tax preparation, becoming an enrolled agent. Nella started other businesses and, with a partner, owned Tony's Supper Club for many years.

Nella was born in Oregon but lived most of her life in Coeur d'Alene, graduating from Coeur d'Alene High School and later going to North Idaho Junior College. She moved closer to her children in 2012 and passed away peacefully at home in Moore, Okla.

Nella loved her hobbies, which included photography, fishing, music, stained glass, world travel, and most of all adventure.

Nella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Orville (Bud) Williams.

Surviving her are her children: Jay Troy (Catherine) of Moore, Okla., and Kimberley Stanard (Sherman) of Moab, Utah; grandchildren: James Stanard (Christy), Jason Troy, and Tyler Troy; and great-grandchildren: Mona and Max Stanard.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Kootenai Humane Society, P.O. Box 1005, Hayden, Idaho 83835, would be appreciated.

Mom always wanted "She had a wonderful life" on her headstone ... and it really was.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, 744 N. 4th St., Coeur d'Alene, with a visitation from noon until service time.
