LETTER: Liberated from California
After reading the “Pining for California” letter in Sunday’s paper, I had to respond.
I was born and raised in California and raised four children there as well. I longed all my life to leave there. Finally, 10 and 1/2 years ago, God gave us the desires of our hearts and we were blessed to relocate to this beautiful place. Also, three of our four kids came here first.
Here’s my list of reasons why I wouldn’t take a million $ to go back.
1. Earthquakes
2. Winds…Santa Anas (horrific)
3. Major high cost of living and taxes
4. Dried up…no rain
5. Way too liberal
6. Traffic
7. Same hot weather year-round. No change of seasons.
8. Try being “self-employed” — impossible!
I have two words for Ms. Hayes: “Go back” to that God-forsaken place. We’ll help you pack.
