NIC MEN'S BASKETBALL: King leads Cardinals past Salish Kootenai
PABLO, Mont. - Jordan King led four North Idaho College players in double figures with 18 points as the shorthanded Cardinals defeated Salish Kootenai College Bison 80-69 in a men's basketball game on Tuesday night.
NIC (4-1), ranked 21st in the NJCAA poll, was without starting point guard Lucas Antunez (ankle), center Fuquan Niles (illness) and reserve Kyle Guice (injury) for the game.
"I thought we played well," NIC coach Corey Symons said. "It's a tough trip to make with the four hour bus ride, and with a young team, it's tough playing these games. It's tough to get their motors going. We came out a little flat, but picked it up a little bit."
Braian Angola had 16 points, Djuan Piper had 15 points and eight rebounds and Jamaal Robateau 11 points for NIC.
DJ Fish scored 16 points for Salish Kootenai.
The teams will play again on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Rolly Williams Court.
