Jason Royce Troth, 79

| November 2, 2014 8:00 PM

Jason Royce Troth, 79, was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and passed away Oct. 22, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

"Do you want to come along?" Jason asked Camilla; she said yes, and they were married on a fine evening, Sept. 6, 1958. They traveled many years together until he passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014.

Jason Royce Troth was the youngest of five children born to William Henry Troth, a carpenter who was born in Iowa, and Lucile Mabel Dennis, a school teacher who had moved west to Idaho after completing her education in Minnesota.

Growing up in Coeur d'Alene, a small logging town in northern Idaho, Jason attended the one room grade school taught by his mother. He enjoyed Phoebe Hruska's after school cookies, and built strong friendships with Nancy Hruska and Dave Buising, getting into the usual trouble. He learned to drive a logging truck and laid bricks with Frank McKinney, who saw great potential in him and deposited Jason's summer pay into an account at the University of Idaho in Moscow.

Jason graduated in Mechanical Engineering and used his new skills at the Bremerton Naval Base in Washington. He went to work for International Harvester and Solar International in the petroleum industry helping to furnish turbine engines and equipment for transcontinental pipelines, building life long friendships in the process, and seeing the world. Later, he used his skills in private business in auto repair with Midas International.

Towards retirement years, he and Camilla took time to help with Habitat for Humanity and other church missions. They also enjoyed traveling by RV to keep up with old friends and college.

We who are here remember he loved his children and grandchildren, being outdoors, hunting and fishing, growing tomatoes, and playing golf.

"How do I say thank you to all of you?" asks Camilla; maybe by a smile, a hug, or a wave we can pass along a bit of faith, hope, and love to everyone we meet, those very same things Jason tried to instill in all of us.

Jason was preceded in death by brothers Joel and William "Bill" Troth, and his niece, Nina.

He is survived by his wife Camilla; their three daughters: Lisa, Carey and Tina, and sons-in-law Mark, Greg, and Jake; and four grandchildren. Other family members are his brother Dennis, and his wife Lillian 'Lily' Troth, their daughters Mary and Lucy, and her family. His sister Kathryn Marion, and her daughter Margot, and son-in-law Fred, and their children Stephen and Alexander, and a son, Marc and daughter-in-law Martha George and their daughter Gabrielle. His older brother, William Troth, left behind his wife Irene and her children Bill, Patty and Linda.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at the First United Methodist Church of Yukon, Oklahoma. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial gifts maybe be made to The First Tee Organization, a golf based program that helps build leadership qualities in low income youth, and Habitat for Humanity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK.
