AIRPORT: Fire the commissioners

| November 2, 2014 8:00 PM

My compliments to the editorial staff for nailing down the lunacy of the County Commissioners for the act of firing Greg Delavan as the Airport Manager. As a tenant/hangar owner for 12 years and a former Commander of the Civil Air Patrol on airport property, I dealt with Greg and his staff on numerous occasions and was always greatly impressed with his and his staff’s abilities and the overall goals and objectives for future airport growth and its value to the County as a whole.

The three idiots who currently occupy the commissioners (pardon me if at least one voted not to fire, but that information is apparently not available to us ordinary taxpayers) not only robbed the county of one its finest managers, they have put the future of the airport development at risk and all for what? Political infighting with the City of Hayden, KMPO, or some other group that got its nose bent out of shape because Greg was pushing the airport agenda? Let’s rush even more and fill this vacancy before two of us leave the board in just a small number of weeks? Are you kidding me?

I do share one desire with the current commissioners, however, I want to “go in a different direction.” Those of you who voted to fire this dedicated and hugely competent employee should resign immediately, leave your chairs empty and you will quickly find that this will be a whole lot more beneficial to the county and its citizens than with you sitting in it. Stupidity runs rampant with this group, folks, and illustrates the reasons why we seem to change commissioners more often than underwear around here.
