Wayne E. Beck, 66
Wayne E. Beck passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, at his home in Yuma, Arizona. Wayne died of complications of cancer, with neglect of treatment, from the Veterans Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 66 years old. Wayne was born in Libby, Montana, on Nov. 21, 1947, to William C. Beck and Lorraine S. Beck (Zacher), and was the seventh of 10 children. Wayne grew up in Coeur d’Alene where he attended school. In 1966 at the age of 17 he joined the Army and did three tours of duty to Vietnam. In 1972, after serving his country, he was honorably discharged.
Wayne immediately went to work, anxious to get his life back on course. Over the years he worked construction, etc. through the union. He met and married Susan Davidson (Troutman). They raised two sons, Patrick and Garret.
Wayne loved cars — the faster the better. He enjoyed working on cars — hot rods or classics — and driving them, he was very good at taking them apart and putting them back together again. He enjoyed fishing and hot summer days. Wayne loved to tell stories that would guarantee you to laugh. Wayne was a good son, brother and friend who we all enjoyed countless hours of fun and laughter with. We are blessed with wonderful memories of Wayne and because of this he is never far away.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister Linda L. Kay (Beck). He is survived by his wife, Sue in Yuma; two sons, Patrick and Garret Davison; brothers, Wesley Beck of Spokane, Warren Beck of Newman Lake, Washington, Wally Beck of Coeur d’Alene and Wendell Beck of Otis Orchards, Washington; and by sisters, Laverne Wanzer of Burns, Oregon, Lela Whitson of Newman Lake and Lila Tatum of Dalton Gardens. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
