Philip Lynn Moss, 72
Philip Lynn Moss, 72, of Hayden Lake, Idaho, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2014, following a courageous battle with lymphoma.
Philip was a native Californian born in Los Angeles on June 29, 1941. Following graduation from Loyola High School in 1959 and Loyola University in Los Angeles in 1963, both he and his twin brother, Michael, began careers with TWA. Following 10 years of sales in the airline industry, Philip and Michael formed their own company in 1971 in the emerging field of corporate group travel. Travel Incentives, Inc., (TII), would become one of the premier incentive travel companies in the country.
Known for his zest for life and traveling the world, Philip had impeccable style and taste. He loved life and his rich, Jesuit education. Philip's magnetic personality and witty sense of humor served him well as he traveled the globe for over 50 years.
In 1990, Philip and Melissa moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho. Nothing filled his life more completely than spending time with his family, wife, and countless friends. Philip was an avid reader - a student of history, who kept up with politics and current world events. He enjoyed boating and fishing, playing tennis and golf with his pals, and taking walks with his dogs.
Philip’s final months were spent in Palm Desert enjoying the warm California sunshine that he so dearly loved. Philip was a people-person, and he will be missed.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Moss and Mildred Montour Moss; and his brother, Chuck, who passed away on May 4, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife, Melissa; twin brother, Michael Moss, of Camarillo, Calif., Bob Moss (Maryann) of Flagstaff, Ariz., daughter, Mary Tope (Mike), of Capistrano Beach, Calif., two sons: Larry Moss (Jackie), and Tim Moss (Cheryl), of Denver, Colo., five adoring grandchildren: Conor, Griffin, Callie, Cole and Courtney; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at St. Jude the Apostle in Westlake Village, Calif., with a reception following at the church (www.saintjudetheapostle.org/).
A celebration of Philip's life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the Clark House in Hayden Lake, Idaho.
