NONINI: Service above and beyond

I have to admit that I don’t follow politics enough to really know the issues being debated, but I know from personal experience that Sen. Nonini supports families and business in our community and state — and his actions prove it.

Late last year, Senator Nonini stepped in to help a group of unrelated individuals and businesses deal with a difficult employee of a state agency. This employee had created an atmosphere of anger and intimidation, and overly influenced other agencies/municipalities through his position. This had a direct impact on business investment in our community and indirectly pushed one business to remain in the Spokane Valley as opposed to considering North Idaho.

Senator Nonini was pivotal in setting up a meeting with the director of the state agency. They promptly came to Cd’A and investigated. The issues were addressed, the changes were immediate, and the working relationship with this agency has been good and the lines of communication restored. I was impressed with the process, the professionalism of the director, and Senator Nonini.

We didn’t make a big deal out of it and it didn’t make headlines, but it is an example of Senator Nonini directly helping a number of families and businesses in our area and not immediately running to the press for recognition. I know everyone felt fortunate to have a voice, and I was thankful for his help.

That is my experience with Senator Nonini — and for that he has my support.
