MATHESON: Giving back to community
I have known Steve Matheson since he and his family moved to the area five years ago. I saw him jump directly into improving our community as both an Ironman and CHS Booster Club volunteer. It is great to see that he wants to continue giving back to the community in an area where he has significant and meaningful experience.
Kootenai County is lucky to have someone with Steve Matheson’s credentials offering his services for the betterment of our community. With 28 years of financial management experience, he knows how to improve returns on taxpayer dollars while adhering to state code 67-1210, which strictly limits the types of assets counties can invest in. In some cases, improved returns would only require a shift to longer-dated U.S. Treasury Bonds. No derivatives involved. For more information, see MathesonForTreasurer.com.
Although I no longer spend the majority of my calendar year where I was raised, I want the best for Coeur d’Alene and Kootenai County in the long term. I am grateful for the childhood I had growing up in this wonderful place, and I would not hesitate to return to raise a family of my own in the future. With his relevant financial experience, Steve Matheson is the clear choice for Treasurer to secure the best possible financial future for Kootenai County.
