EBERLEIN: For new leadership
One incumbent is running again for Kootenai County Commissioner in the May 20 primary election. Please unite, Republican voters, and vote for his opponent.
Commissioner Tondee steadfastly supported the proposed zoning code which citizens strongly opposed. He expressed frustration that the public could not be educated on this matter. But it was the commissioners who were slow to learn and wasted nearly $500,000 on this throw-away code. Now we are slowly beginning to learn about hundreds of thousands of dollars being paid to prior employees who quit their jobs voluntarily, and also about one employee who continues to be paid but is not actually working. Looking to the future, how much will be wasted on a poorly planned jail and new county offices under this kind of misguided leadership?
Recently the commissioners contracted with a Boise PR firm to study needs perceived by community leaders for a many-million-dollar construction project. This firm specializes in perception campaigns and political strategies, and “helps leaders manage their reputations, tell compelling stories, and outsmart the competition.” Here we go again!
My vote will go to Mr. Marc Eberlein. I believe he will work to benefit the county rather than himself. Out with the old in the primary election this month, then in with the new in the general election this fall.
