Joseph Nikilaus Eisele, 24

| March 31, 2014 12:33 PM

Loving son, brother and friend, Joseph Nikilaus Eisele, passed unexpectedly on Friday, March 28, 2014.

Born in Coeur d'Alene on July 15, 1989, he is best remembered for his infectious smile, free spirit, and loving manner. Known as Nik to his friends and family, he never met a stranger, only new friends to make and treasure. Nik sought out and saw the best in everyone, and never had a bad word about anyone. His heart was larger than his 6 foot frame, and he was unabashed in giving a hug or an "I love you," no matter who was watching or listening. An avid traveler and adventurer, by his early twenties Nik was comfortable in the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Spain, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. Most importantly, everyone was comfortable around Nik.

Nik's zest for life and diverse interests included flying, sailing, motorcycles, fast cars, and music. At the time of his death he was living in Seattle, Wash., where he was focused on college and a promising future in business.

Nik is survived by his father, Joseph Eisele, of Seattle, Wash., his loving mother, Jeanne Norton and stepfather Gary Norton, of Athol, Idaho; brother Josh Rurey, of Seattle, Wash., sister Aiyana Eisele Rutherford, of Boulder, Colo.; grandfather Larry Darden, of Priest River, Idaho; grandparents Jim and Anne Sawyer, of Hayden Lake, Idaho; step-sisters Callie Golden, Brianna Monoaghan, and Michelle Sheets; step brothers David, Mike, Paul, and Nick Norton; their loving spouses, and a host of precious nieces and nephews to whom Nik was an adoring uncle and pal.

Nik's journey will be remembered in a Celebration of Life at 6 p.m., on Friday, April 4, at the Theater of Illusion at Silverwood Theme Park. Visit Nik's online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.englishfuneralchapel.com
