Silverwood to hire 1,400 for seasonal jobs
<p>Aftershock riders are inverted as they make their way through one of three inversions during the 92-second ride at Silverwood Theme Park. The amusement park is preparing to hire some 1,400 full and part-time positions for the upcoming season.</p>
Silverwood Theme Park will hold job fairs Saturday and April 5 to hire as many as 1,400 for seasonal positions.
Both fairs will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds in Coeur d'Alene.
Positions include ride operators, lifeguards, food and beverage workers, housekeepers, retail jobs and games employees.
"The park looks for all levels of experience, from a limited number of youth seeking that first job to more seasoned job seekers wanting a fun, yet hard-working environment," a Silverwood press release states.
"Positions from entry-level to supervisorial are available and include a first-class training program that prepares each employee to meet and exceed the expectations..."
Wages begin at $8.24 per hour and increase based on responsibilities.
Applicants can visit www.workatsilverwood.com to fill out an application and then come to one of the two job fairs for an interview. They should come dressed to impress.
For those hired, training will begin in April.
Silverwood opens weekends in May and daily in June.
